Hi there.
Is there any way to show total count of comments on a Kanban board's card?? Something like this:

The reason is sometimes, a new assignee misses the conversation going on in the ticket, so it might be good to show number of comments so that they might glance the conversation once before proceeding with ticket.

Hi @Zaeem Khaliq

there is currently no native future support for this functionality. There is a feature request you could vote for: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-40424

Besides that, an option to implement something like that would be by:

  1. Creating and using a numeric custom field that is used to track the number of comments in an issue (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-custom-fields/)
  2. Utilizing Jira Automation to change this number after a comment was added to an issue (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Automation-How-to-get-number-of-comment-on-an-issue/qaq-p/1701129)
  3. Displaying the number field on the cards in a board (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/customize-cards/#Adding-fields-to-cards)

Be aware: Custom fields and automation can have an effect on the performance of your Jira environment, depending on the way how they are configured. Also the number of executions for automation rules is limited for some Jira plans (https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/features/automation#limits / Check out "Automation" in https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/pricing)
