Ask Me Anything: The present and future of cloud-to-cloud data copy

Hi Atlassian Community!

It's me again, Adithya Ramesh, the Product Manager for Copy Product Data, improving how you control your product footprint in the cloud. I'm joined by Branimir Kain, our Sr. Product Marketing Manager for Enterprise & Migrations, and Swarna Mehta, Sr. Product Manager for Cloud Transitions.

Over the past couple of months, my colleagues Swarna, Branimir, and I have been getting active in the community with a series of posts centered around cloud-to-cloud capabilities.

These posts have been invaluable for connecting with you, our valued customers, allowing us to better understand how cloud-to-cloud is playing a part in your day-to-day and what we can do to make it even better. To that end, I’m excited to announce we’ll be running our first Ask Me Anything (AMA) for cloud-to-cloud!

How to participate:

  1. Read our previous posts: Get familiar with cloud-to-cloud and some of the content we’ve shared in the past.

  2. Ask your questions and like the post: Please post your questions in the comments below before Friday, November 8th. And don’t forget to like the post! Our team will actively monitor and respond to your queries by Thursday, November 14th!

  3. Engage: Feel free to share your experiences and insights with the community. We’d love to hear your feedback!

Swarna, Branimir, and I are happy to answer any questions you have about our cloud-to-cloud capabilities and how they factor into your day-to-day activities, migrations, special projects, and more! Thanks for reading, and we look forward to answering your questions!

For those of you who might want some face-time our team is always looking for feedback on your experience moving data in the cloud. If you have additional feedback about the tool, I’d love to hear that, please feel free to schedule a meeting with me here: https://calendly.com/aramesh-ep0/30min

Is copying of JSM automations and forms working yet? Here it says it isn't.

1) Does C2C copy project automation from source to destination?  At present I do that separately via Global Automation export/import and that too does not work well because it does not back up:

  • labels
  • projects info
  • enable/disable box

Also C2C does not back up 2) project layout and 3) messes up workflow rendering.

Hello @Lara Bailey unfortunately the copying of Automation Rules and Forms is not supported yet. However, we are actively exploring adding the support for Automation Rules and is a high priority item for us

Hello @Shah_ Piyush we understand the challenges with using the Automation export/import and are actively exploring how we can integrate copying Automation rules with the C2C rules. We are also working on adding support for project layout and workflow rendering in the coming months
