Hello,
We are excited to start out first PI planning in Jira Align soon, Could someone please share or point me to any documentation with steps that shows how to setup Features, Program board, Program kanban board etc?
Thank you,
Abhi.
Hi @Reddy
The Jira Align Knowledge Base has help articles describe how to use the Jira Align functionality you are referring to.
Here is a link to the Knowledge Base. You can search for specific topics.

Here are links to some of the topics you referenced in your questions. FYI - The Help button on the lower right corner of the Jira Align references the information from the Jira Align Knowledge base.

Thank you @Sam Tsubota @Peter Jessen ,
Could you please help me understand the difference between Program board and Program kanban board? Can we use Program kanban board for PI planning?

Sure thing, @Reddy
The Program Kanban view of the Backlog helps Program Managers/RTEs work with Product Managers to plan the appropriate amount of work for an upcoming Program Increment in the form of features (and related stories with story points). It is a planning tool for planning the PI.
The Program Board is a planning tool for laying out when each feature will be delivered by one or more teams during the course of the upcoming Program Increment.
Once a PI starts, the Program Board is the plan for when work needs to be completed, as committed to by the teams.
Here's the Jira Align Program Board article and here is the Scaled Agile Framework article on PI Planning.

Peter

@Peter Jessen I'm looking for more info on how to use Program Kanban boards(attached picture) for PI planning and not program board(Sorry for the confusion)

@Reddy the Program Board is the visual radiator that is used for PI Planning. Some of the articles that @Peter Jessen give an overview of the Program Board and how it is used in PI Planning. The Program kanban board is commonly used to visualize flow of features.

Short answer is I recommend you have your Jira Align Administrator turn that functionality off. Those are custom kanban boards and an advanced topic. Those boards require manual creation of all the columns and swim lanes.
The Kanban functionality i recommend you focus on is accessible from Program -> Backlog -> Feature Backlog -> Kanban view (on right side).

Peter

Okay Thanks @Peter Jessen , Could you also please share any docs on how to conduct Program level Retrospective (not team level) in JA and how to enter the data by selecting an Interactive meeting?
Thank you again for all your help!
