Hello,
We have a field name 'Sponsoring VP' under themes in our Jira Align instance. There is a user role called 'SLT' where we apply this role to a user, they must show up under the drop down list of 'Sponsoring VP' field (as per my understanding). But the users weren't showing up in the field though the role is assigned. Kindly suggest any trouble shooting options.
Thank you.
Hello!
The field you are mentioning seems to be a custom field. Custom fields in Jira Align cannot be configured as user picker fields. Please find all information about custom fields and how they can be configured on this help page: https://help.jiraalign.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041832653-10X-Configure-Default-and-Custom-Fields
With the information I have, I see the following options to capture that information:
- you could use the description to capture that information
- you could use a test input custom field
- you could use a single select dropdown field if the amount of options is small and rather less dynamic
Best regards
Philipp
Hello Phillipp,
Thank you for the input, this helped me resolve this issue :)
Another question : In Dependency work item, there is a field 'Depends On > External'. How do I make the teams populate under 'External field' ?
Thank you!

My colleague @Mark Cruth wrote a fantastic article about everything external dependency related - it contains the answer to your question as well: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Align-articles/Have-a-dependency-on-a-team-outside-of-Jira-Align-There-s-a/ba-p/1296201
