Is it possible for links in HelpDesk articles to open in the same tab and not open in a new tab?

We are setting up a customer portal for our HelpDesk articles and each article has many hyperlinks.

When clicking the hyperlink it automatically opens in a new TAB instead of in the same TAB.  Is there a setting somewhere that can turn this off?

Hi Andrew: You would need to see if the confluence settings might be able to be adjusted. I do not have a Confluence Cloud instance open at moment. Did you try right clicking on hyperlink and choose option to open in new tab or window.  that might be your only option, based on my review of confluence cloud settings: https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicemanagementserver/knowledge-base-settings-and-permissions-in-confluence-cloud-1018775529.html

Here is a related request (think it is for confluence server): https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Links-to-open-in-a-new-tab/qaq-p/742964
