Are we anywhere close to being able to fix the width of Rows and columns in tables?

Tables in confluence cloud end up looking horrible when they are responsive and you need just some narrow columns.

Still waiting for desktop app, imagining lots of tabs are opened during work and it takes time to locate confluence tab to start editing/viewing.

It's also inefficient to keep a separate browser window due to shortcut are shared with other browser windows.

Quip / Slite / Notion all provide apps, and even two of them are wrapped by Electron, but still, optimized for desktop experiences.

I tracked the issue but no recent response.
Why Atlassian doesn't give any progress or decision on this move to us?
