Remarks on Confluence Databases

Tomas Bejcek February 16, 2024

It is not possible to generate database content automatically, e.g. using page labels.

Columns of type number cannot be used for auto-incrementing IDs.

Page link field allows manual creation of new pages only. It would be nice to be able to automatically create a new page when a new database record is created. Something in the style of a "Create from template" macro.

When creating pages manually, it is not possible to set the user to choose where the page will be created before creation (it only happens en masse for all created pages).

Page detail does not allow to display the owner of the page.

Jira priority is shown as an icon only.

Possibility of bulk editing of items: The setting of some items can be "bypassed", e.g. the label can be set to drag and drop en masse in the kanban display, but it would be good to have it natively in other layouts as well.

I would absolutely like to see this as an option. Being able to link multiple templates that have a database entry macro on them so you can choose which type of page and where to create it would the ideal. We use our Confluence space to track our projects, but not every project is going to use the exact same template in terms of the text portions of the pages.
