Below are some of the questions we received during the webinar that we thought would be helpful to share!
Can all users access the 'inspect permissions' feature in Premium?
Yes, all users on Confluence Premium will be able to inspect permissions on a specific page. Learn more here.
Is it possible to search for a group in inspect permissions?
It is not currently possible to search for a group in inspect permissions, only individual users. However, the Confluence team is actively investigating adding the support of groups to the feature and intends to add this capability in the next 2-4 months.
Can all Confluence admin types make use of the admin key?
Only org admins can use admin key. Learn more here.
Using "admin key" can you modify the "owner" of the space?
You can use admin key to get access to a restricted page and use inspect permissions to grant users access to a previously modified page. Learn more here.
Is there a way to use the admin key with the API?
No, there is not currently a way to leverage admin key via API. Please vote for this idea and follow any updates we post about it here.
Could you show us where to find the logs of the use of admin keys ?
Product admins can navigate to the audit log by going to Confluence administration, and then selecting the audit log feature within the admin side nav there.
Is it possible to change ownership of many pages in a space in bulk?
Yes, you can do this and additional bulk actions, like bulk archive and delete, in content manager. Learn more here.
Does the new content manager allow delete/purge file attachments that are no longer on the current published page?
No, attachment management actions are not currently available within the content manager feature. Please vote for this idea and follow any updates we post about it here.
Is it only admins who can access the Mission Control and see the other Confluence Admins? I often receive questions from users "who is this space's admin?"
There are two types of mission control available: at the site level and at the space level. Org admins have access to the site-level mission control whereas space admins have access to space-level mission control for their specific space.
Can mission control be activated separately for each site, so that the person responsible for this site (all of them are from separate offices in our organization) can see the statistic?
Yes, each of your sites will have their own respective mission control views that display the insights for their site.
Is there a way to find a space that was inactive since 6 months? It is easier to archive space than 6400 pages...
There will be soon! In the next 1-3 months we plan to release a new admin feature where you can view your spaces and the last time that they were active.
How to find out which space has activated anonymous access (if this feature has been allowed on site level)?
Yes, you can view whether anonymous access has been activated for a site either in the product-level mission control or in the global permissions site settings page. You can view whether anonymous access has been activated for a space in space-level mission control or in the anonymous access space settings page.
Can this work with content lifecycle management? e.g page is over 1 year old, contact owner to update
Yes, this a common use case for automations. You can set up rules to automatically archive content on a regular basis (e.g. every quarter) as well as notify team members using your preferred communication method (e.g. email, Slack, etc.). Learn more here
Can custom labels be added through automation, based on specific content (text) being on a page?
Yes! You can get started quickly with our automation template: “When a page is published, use AI to determine the best label to add.” Based on the page title or body of content on the page, an AI-generated label will be automatically added to the page.
Are there plans to introduce Confluence Automation where I can create a template using JSM or Jira Smart Values to generate Confluence pages?
Today, you can create JSM issues directly from Confluence automations - see more here https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Create-Jira-Service-Management-JSM-issues-directly-from/ba-p/2655730#M10003 and https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Create-Jira-Service-Management-JSM-issues-directly-from/ba-p/2655730#M10003
