Hello,
We have integrated Compass Free version with GitHub Cloud, however every time I try to create a template it asks to integrate with github, but it does not work.
The free version is meant to support 1 template, but this is not working.
I can also confirm when I create a component, and connect it to the private org github repo it works, with metrics starting to flow in, so integration with github is working.
However, when I click create template, it asks to integrate with bitbucket, github, etc. - again.
How can I get support? I am also admin of Compass (not JIRA or Confluence), but when I ask for support it says I need to be admin and cannot request help?
Regards
Andrew
Hi, @Andrew Bruno , @Michael James , thanks for reaching out.
You're correct that free Compass versions should have a template creation enabled once an SCM app is installed and configured. I assume you're clicking the "Templates" section in the main navigation bar to access template creation?
If you're using the GitHub app to connect GitHub cloud, can you verify that accessing its configuration screen displays at least one connected organization, similar to the screenshot attached below?
Once the system detects that there's an app installed with at least a connected organization, you should see a "Create" button available inside of the "Templates" section.
For us, our GitHub organization isn't linked properly by the looks of it. I've set it up in GitHub (I'm one of the org admins and the Compass app is installed etc).
How can we diagnose what's causing this to not be linked properly?
I can confirm when we add API specs via the URL's that is working

@Enrique Serrano Valle access to our github organization & repos is IP whitelisted.
Does Compass support this capability?

@Andrew Bruno good point raising this, ours also now uses IP Allow Lists, @Enrique Serrano Valle I've struggled to find out what IP's compass uses, the general Atlassian IP list doesn't seem to indicate which ones Compass uses.
Our Jira setup is working fully, and we are getting some GitHub information, just not all of it, so I suspect it must be something IP related

@Andrew Bruno @Michael James good call on the allow lists. Compass integrates with GitHub via a Forge app. You can find the IPs that Forge apps use in this link, tagged with "forge". This document has some additional information and context as well about the IPs that Atlassian uses.

I will look to get the Forge App IP's added, I suspect our IT only set up IP's for Confluence and Jira when they initially set things up. Thanks, I'll report how we get on

I have the same issue and I've not been able to find anything that allows me to change anything
