Your photos are breathtaking, @Dreamsuite Mike . But heartbreaking to see how we continually insult our Oceans with refuse and trash. I've learned to carry a trash a bag when my husband and I walk on our So. California beaches because I inevitably end up cleaning and get frustrated when I can't carry more! More than once we've had to cut a bird or duck out of the plastic six pack holders so we carry a knife, too.

These are mostly sprite bottles. We have been saving them since November. Kind of scary how much we drank. So we painted them and then attach a wire through the screw top to have them stand. Will send pictures of the finished ones. Great for outdoor decorations in the middle of winter.
Andy, we just faked it. We cut the bottle in half, removed the lid before painting then cut each piece to give it a flower look. After putting together using a hot glue gun, we poked a hole in the lid and inserted the wire, curling the ends so it wouldn't pull through. I will have to send pictures later of the finished products.
These are some pics from our most recent trip to the beach... one of our typical beach fishing trips. We ALWAYS haul off more than we take...including some fish! I usually carry a metal detector with me, and I've learned to despise people... beer bottle caps, pull tabs, beach tent stakes, nails, aluminumized drink pouches, cans, lost fishing gear, boards with nails in them... you name it. I've found maybe $2.00 in change, a few small anklets, bracelets, and I did find one very nice black titanium ring.
Our philosophy has always been Leave with more than you take, and only leave footprints. We always do our part in cleaning the beaches. We do our best to leave only footprints, and we've taught our children and their children to do the same.
If we would all just do that, it would be a huge win.
