Bonus Release (Oct 7, 2024): Quarterly Kudos Leaderboard Improvements!
I’m back again in less than a week, with something hot-off-the-presses and SO exciting it deserves it’s own write-up - major improvements to our quarterly Kudos leaderboards! Before we dive in and ICYMI, there are SO many exciting Kudos things happening this month. If you haven’t caught up yet you can check out our full release notes for the month here! That being said, we just couldn’t wait to share this one until next month, so without further ado…
Quarterly Kudos Leaderboards are getting personalized!
We’ve heard the feedback from new community members loud and clear - joining the community and immediately being up against our highest points-earners is intimidating. To address this we made the leaderboard experience more equitable. As of today, instead of being up against every other member of the community, the default quarterly leaderboard view now has you competing with folks at a similar stage allowing for equal competition no matter where you are in your Community Journey! 🤩
Our newest friends on the community who have earned up to 1,699 points will have their own leaderboard to help them get off the ground in the Kudos program. Community members between 1,700 points and 9,999 points are in our general competition, and our most Kudos devoted members who have earned more than 10,000 points will duke it out to see who can come out on top! If a personalized view isn’t your thing and you’re more motivated to earn that absolute top spot, we still offer views of All Users on a quarterly basis and All-Time points as well - tab to those to see how you stack up against everyone, both in this quarter and in the lifetime of our Community Kudos program 👀
This improvement should make the early days of our new friends' time on the Atlassian Community a little less daunting - it also opens up paths to new exciting ways to celebrate our leaderboard champions at all levels! What happened to the Actions tracker?
One of my absolute favorite parts of the Kudos program personally is that we can see badges as they’re earned in real-time! If you’re like me and you’re fascinated by the live feed, you can now find it in the left-most column where you see your status in the Kudos program - just tab over to ‘All events’ from ‘Your events’ to watch those badges come in!
So, what’s next?
Well, I’m no fortune teller, but I can say we’ve got a lot of exciting happenings on the horizon for Kudos! We are hard at work on continued improvements in both our experience using the Kudos tray interface as well as our available challenges for you to conquer to climb those leaderboards.
