I'm getting the following error regardless of what browser I use and even in private browsing modes

Hi @John O_shea and welcome to the community.

The Bitbucket Cloud account with the same email as your community account was deactivated, which I believe is the reason for the error you were seeing.

I went ahead and reactivated it, could you please try to log in now and let me know if it works?

There is a similar thread https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bitbucket-questions/Unable-to-login-Bitbucket-We-couldn-t-log-you-in/qaq-p/1896018 and it seems that could be related to an inactive account.

Try to raise a support request https://support.atlassian.com/contact/
