Hey James!
Welcome to the Bitbucket Cloud Community.
The Bitbucket extension for Visual Studio is a third-party application so there is limited information I can provide from my end, however it looks like other people have asked for the same documentation in the QA section for the link below. There appears to be a contact email for the developer on the Overview page here so it might be worthwhile reaching out to them directly:
https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=MistyK.VisualStudioBitbucketExtension&ssr=false#overview
Also in the "Overview" section it looks like the latest version formally supported is Visual Studio 2019 as this was the last update provided in the release notes so I would recommend using this version if you are unable to get 2022 to work.
There is a community question here which also might be useful information for you:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bitbucket-questions/When-will-Bitbucket-support-to-VS2022/qaq-p/1894860
Hope this helps to steer you in the right direction.
Cheers!
- Ben (Bitbucket Cloud Support)
