How do I trigger a custom pipeline build for tags?

Hi,

Is it possible to trigger a "custom" pipeline run for a tag? It seems custom pipelines are only for branches and specific commits. 

I know you can trigger pipelines for tag, but they seem to trigger one-off once a tag is created and pushed to bitbucket. 

The ability to build for tags ad-hoc is important in many cases. For example, we cut the release on a friday and deploy on a Sunday. Or to roll-back we deploy a previous version. All these scenarios rely ad-hoc pipeline runs using tags.
