Bamboo Data Center 9.4 is now available! Don’t miss out on the enterprise-grade security improvements, including new features like:

• Release approval policy for deployment environments

• Expiring personal access tokens

Bamboo 9.4 also offers accessibility improvements for low-vision and keyboard-only users, as well as support for Java 17.

Bamboo 9.4.x is the last release to support Server licenses

Bamboo 9.4 will be the last Bamboo feature release available to download for Server, prior to the Server end of support date on Feb 15, 2024. All feature releases after Bamboo 9.4 will only support our Data Center offering. Bamboo 9.4 will continue to receive security and bug fixes in adherence to our Support policies.

We recommend that you upgrade to Data Center to remain secure and supported.

Release approval policy for deployment environments

In order to protect your production environment, deployment environments now offer a release approval policy. This allows you to define the conditions a release that must meet before being deployed, e.g. all releases, approved releases, or the ones not marked as broken. Learn more.

Expiring personal access tokens

We’ve listened to your feedback and made expiring personal access tokens possible. Now you can be sure that basic authentication stays secure, even with short-lived integrations or when you can’t enforce a regular change.

Additionally, you can now set an automatic expiry date for the tokens and admins get the tools to enforce it with a global maximum validity period. Learn more about personal access tokens.

Accessibility improvements for low-vision and keyboard-only users

We are continuously working on making Bamboo more accessible. To that end, in this release, we have made the following improvements:

• Added previously missing ARIA roles, alternative text, and labels for page elements

• Added keyboard support for click-to-copy and drag-and-drop to many interactive elements

• Updated legacy components with new, accessible components

• Fixed incorrect and misleading attributes and keyboard traps

Support for Java 17

To improve Bamboo's performance and stability, we have now added support for Java 17. This is supported both on the agent and server side.

With the coming end of Server support, this is a great opportunity to upgrade to Bamboo’s best Data Center version yet, so learn the full details of the release here! And don’t forget, all these features will be included in the upcoming Bamboo Long Term Support (LTS) release.
