Hi,
Struggling to think of a soluition here, we have multiple 'Select List (single choice)' fields that are used to rate someting from 1 to 5 in a JSM project.
The ask is that when this ticket is promoted via the workflow to a specific status, it will create a new ticket in a Product Discovery project.
The target fields in the Product Discovery project are currently simply Number fields.
1. Is Number fields the best field type to use here?
2. What is the best practice to copy the value from the JSM project custom field to then be used in the field in the PD project
Thanks for the reply @Bill Sheboy I have managed to get this working, just working through other issues atm.
It was simply a case of using the smart value for the destination field in the automation.
Regarding the types of the fields, your usage will determine which types are better fits for mapping to the JPD fields. Perhaps discuss this scenario with your JPD users to learn what is needed.
For copying the fields when creating the issue (i.e., JPD idea), I recommend creating a rule and trying to copy the JSM information to the relevant JPD idea's fields, and testing it. JPD does have some distinct field types not used elsewhere in Jira products and so experimentation may help.
If those do not help, please post more specific information, including:
Kind regards,
Bill
