Launching cloud in 2-3 months? Take these 3 steps to set your team up for success

Does this sound like you?

You planned for the people part of change (hopefully with the Adoption Toolkit! ).
You announced the upcoming move to Atlassian cloud ~6-12 months in advance.
You got the right leaders and teams on board.
You rebuilt your workflows.
You tested and tested again.
You will launch in the next 2-3 months.

Yeah? Then this article is for you! Read on.

First of all, well done.

You’ve worked hard to get to this point. Take a moment to celebrate your progress!

Now, it’s time to prepare your team for launch day.

Follow the steps below to set them up for success (and show off all your hard work)!

1. Prepare your internal teams

  • Recruit internal champions to boost cloud adoption throughout your teams.
  • Coordinate with your internal support desk to help users during and after launch.
Pro tip: Host office hours to answer user questions leading up to launch day.

2. Curate resources for your users

Pro tip: Centralize key details with a cloud migration hub. All your internal outreaches can link to your hub so your users always have the latest information.

3. Build awareness and excitement for launch day

  • 1-2 months out*: Cloud migration launch date announcement
  • 2 weeks out: Launch date reminder
  • Launch day: Day-of announcement

*Psst! Not launching cloud for a while? Check out our guidance on building a communications plan, including a migration announcement template. Or scroll down and select More β€’β€’β€’ > Bookmark to save this post for later.

Pro tip: Drum up team excitement and buy-in with outreaches from your Executive Sponsor. Even better, save your Executive Sponsor time by ghostwriting their outreaches.

Whew, you did it! It’s the day after launch. Everyone’s happily adopting your cloud products with no issues, right?

If so, please tell us your secret.

Not quite? Not to worry. Some level of turbulence is expected before you reach cruising altitude (see what we did there? ).

Be sure to monitor your feedback channels during the first weeks post-launch. Beyond that, continue to engage your team by sharing product tips and tricks, requests for their feedback, and new features as they roll out.

Last but not least, don’t go it alone! Continue to lean on this community for encouragement and support.

See you in the cloud!
