When we migrate projects from jira server to jira cloud using jira migration assistant -projects get copied to jira cloud or moved from jira server?

Hi @khushboo_puri , 

The Jira Cloud Migration Assistant just copies data to your cloud site (nothing is removed from Jira Server).

Exactly, to add to Mile's answer, you can review the this article which explains how to use the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant to Migrate and Compare cloud migration methods which highlights the benefits and limitations of Jira Cloud Migration Assistant

In addition to previous questions, i will suggest you to setup a test cloud enviroment and perform a test migration there to see the results.

 

As already said but other members, you Jira Server data will remain untouched. So no worries its a safe procedure.
