:cloud: Founders Note: The next era of Atlassian Cloud

Our CEO and Co-Founder, Mike Cannon-Brookes, along with the team, kicked off the presentation by sharing some remarkable statistics. Atlassian has successfully served over 300,000 customers, a significant portion of whom are transitioning to cloud-based services. Notably, Confluence has witnessed a migration of 100,000 customers to the cloud in the current year alone, while Jira has experienced a twofold increase in its cloud customer base. Furthermore, they revealed that 75% of Atlassian customers operating in regulated industries have migrated at least one product to the cloud.

The team improved back-end architecture for faster migrations, achieving over 30% increase in responsiveness. Atlassian added data residency support for 11 regions and introduced 1000+ new features, averaging a new feature every 5-6 minutes over the past year. Atlassian's focus on cloud technology is evident, with a dedicated effort to ensure a robust transition experience for all users.

Atlassian Team '24 announcements

Numerous product announcements were made at Team '24. In this blog post, I will provide a brief summary of the well-received announcements and highlight several that will be featured in our upcoming webinar on June 5th, 2024 What’s new from Team’24 and how Riverty future-proofs on cloud. However, I highly recommend watching Team '24 keynotes on demand

Jira Cloud: Unified and not just for development teams anymore

First and foremost, the announcement of Jira Work Management (JWM) merging with Jira Software means a unified product in Jira Cloud. Now for all teams to align on goals and priorities, track and collaborate on work, and get the insights they need to build incredible things together.

There was a significant emphasis on implementing Jira and Confluence beyond the realm of development, with numerous highlighted use cases in Marketing, Sales, and Support. For example, JSW users now have access to calendar and list views, while JWM users can leverage JSW features such as "Releases" to monitor project milestones. Essentially, this consolidation simplifies operations for all users, as it involves managing a single Jira license and selecting desired features for project configuration.

Rovo: Unlock enterprise knowledge

We launched a new AI-powered product called Atlassian Rovo. Rovo helps your teams find information across all their selected SaaS apps, learn and iterate on knowledge as they work, and act faster with virtual agents. Rovo is a new paid Atlassian Intelligence stand-alone product that generated significant buzz at the event due to its AI-powered capabilities, including enterprise search, knowledge cards, definitions & topics, chat agents, and more. This AI-powered engine establishes an extensive language model for your organization by aggregating data from various sources such as the Atlassian platform, Google or Microsoft documents, Slack or Teams, and other sources.

Rovo allows you to pose questions in chat, and it will utilize its model to retrieve relevant information. If you have experience with ChatGPT or similar tools, you'll find this capability of retrieving knowledge from data to be quite familiar.

Rovo will have virtual agents as team extensions for tasks like verifying documents and removing feature flags, promising remarkable efficiency gains. Visit the Atlassian Rovo product page for more details.

Atlassian Intelligence (AI): 30 new capabilities

In addition to launching a new AI-powered product (Rovo), we announced loads of improvements to native artificial intelligence (AI) at Team this year, with 30 new AI capabilities unveiled across the platform. These native-AI enhancements enhance the tools you love and use daily, making them even more intuitive, productive, and integrated. Among my favorites in Confluence are the abilities to automatically create sub-tasks from an issue description and to expand the content in a product description page based on bullet points. The ongoing prominence of AI in the industry is undeniable, and these integrated tools within the platform offer substantial productivity advantages for users.

Guard: Enhance your security posture

Atlassian has fortified its cloud security product with Atlassian Guard, offering two plans: Atlassian Guard Standard and Atlassian Guard Premium. This launch aims to enhance data security and compliance features for cloud customers.

Atlassian Guard is a leading security and compliance tool crafted to fortify the security stance of organizations using Atlassian products. It provides advanced threat detection capabilities using sophisticated algorithms to identify and mitigate security threats in real-time. Additionally, the tool emphasizes compliance monitoring, assisting organizations in adhering to industry standards such as GDPR and SOC 2 through automated reporting and continuous monitoring.

Atlassian Guard features: automated incident response, integrates with Jira and Confluence, monitors user activity for security. Ensures robust security without productivity disruption.

Atlassian Guard aims to meet the security needs of modern organizations, providing advanced tools to safeguard their digital operations against evolving cyber threats. For more details, visit the Atlassian Guard product page.

Optic + Compass: Create documentation with ease

Just prior to Team ’24, we revealed the strategic acquisition of Optic. Optics is a tool that puts API documentation capabilities into Compass. Compass has already had a successful launch, with many thousands of customers benefiting from its capabilities; this new addition will fill a much-needed and asked-for gap in its functionality. Ensuring thorough documentation of your component or service APIs to avoid discrepancies between the code and the documentation.

Unified Search: Find anything anywhere

Unified Search is designed to revolutionize the way you interact with Atlassian's suite of tools and third-party applications. By harnessing the power of AI, Unified Search offers a seamless, intuitive search experience that understands your intent, making it easier than ever to find exactly what you're looking for across all of Atlassian's platforms and beyond. Whether it's on a Confluence page, ticket, comment, or elsewhere, resulting in wasted hours searching for the necessary information
