🎊 🎆 Sherif-sclusive: New Atlassian Intelligence and Rovo Updates (+ Badge!)

Hi everyone and happy new year! 

As of December 2024, I’ve been an Atlassian for 15 (🤯🤯🤯) years. If anyone's counting, that's most of Atlassian’s existence. We’ve grown so much since I started and if there's something I'm 100% certain about, it's that we couldn’t have done it without you. 

I’m grateful to the community for so many reasons - including all of your great questions, comments, and kudos on past “sherif-sclusive” updates. This year, I'm going to invite other Atlassian AI leaders to share what they’re excited about and we'll pivot this series to a roundup of as many cool new features we can cram in. 

For now, a couple things that will definitely make life easier: 

1. Transfer Rovo agent ownership

We know that many of you create agents for others but then have to own them forever. We made it super easy to transfer ownership so you're off the hook. Go into agent editing, select the new owner, and click ‘Update’ to make it official.

(Rovo Agent what? If you're new to the concept, Rovo Agents are configurable AI teammates that tackle specialised tasks to move work forward. Learn more about creating agents here.)

2. Improve Issue dropdown in Jira GA

Jira's AI features are now easier to find. The Improve Issue option within the Jira Issue View lets you quickly and easily use key AI features through a single button.

3. Smart issue reformatter in Jira GA

Initially launched in open beta in July, the issue reformatter in Jira is now available in GA! As part of the launch, we've made a little tweak to the name, changing it from 'Add Structure' to 'Improve Issue Description' to make it easier to use. We have also made this available in Business projects, in addition to Software projects.

What’s next?

We've made a lot of breakthroughs in 2024 - it's been a really big year for Atlassian Intelligence and Rovo. I'm proud of the work we've done and all of the improvements we rolled out - especially those that our customers/community members were looking forward to.

Would love to hear more about the Rovo and AI roadmap for '25 and '26, and look forward to future blog posts! 2024 was a lot of change, and more to come I assume as transitions happen to cloud, enterprise features, and moar AI driven features!

I understand you perfectly, I've been using this tool for 11 years, I've learned so much with it, I've seen it evolve, improve, change, with its successes and failures, it has honestly been an enriching journey and it's great to see how the tool continues to evolve, adapting to changes such as AI, adding Rovo

I'd like to take this opportunity to comment that I would love for Atlassian University to evolve as well, adding more modern information, for the platform to also adapt to other languages ​​such as Spanish (since this community is very large)

Let's keep waiting for the changes, the positive evolution

The last year has been awesome: going beyond the hype to a point where as Jira & Confluence users, at any experience level, are able to easily leverage the tools in our work.  A huge thank you to you and all involved. 🎉

Those Improve Issue AI functions look like they could be very useful. I don't see that option in my Jira standard site though, is this still being rolled out or is it a premium/enterprise feature?

@Connor yes, that feature is only available in Premium+ Enterprise editions of our products (most AI features are only in Premium / Enterprise)
