Nice to meet you, fellow Atlassian Answerer'es ;)

Thanks a lot for the initiative and the invite, @Bridget

About my introduction:

Where you're from

I'm from Brazil

What you do with your free time

I have a lot of non work interests. During my free time I enjoy traveling, spend time with family and friends, do some genetic research (I worked with bioinformatics in the past and sometimes I still help my old colleagues), play table top games or just relax with some Netflix or Amazon video series.

What you do with your work time

I work on a Research Institute where we develop some crazy ideas (RFID/Iot, Cloud computing, etc.) but, due some NDA's, I'm not allowed to give you more details.

I am a Software Developer Coordinator, teaching the Agile ways to the company (some project managers are tougher than others to convince). I am responsible for the people development and, because of my technical background, I always find myself doing some project analysis, software architecture or CI/CD integration.

I always enjoyed to help others.

It's not an accepted answer, but I was very proud to have something done when (at the time) no one could connect PowerBi and JIRA. Even nowadays I still receive some messages about this on my Linkedin:

Hi,

I'm Henning from Germany. In my free time I'm trying to be with my family and to stay healthy and sometimes answering Atlassian community questions ;-).

At business I take care of our processes and Jira while being responsible for colleagues taking care of other tools.

I was answering a lot of questions because I learned lot about Jira through the community and want to give something back. Nowadays most of the time I'm more answering updates/comments to existing questions because of time constraints.

Lots of cool answers!

Nice to meet everyone.

I'm from Montreal, QC originally, but now based near Santa Barbara, CA

In my free time, I'm mostly a couch potato. Too much good tv to catch up on.

At work, I'm a "systems design engineer"... whatever THAT means. But ultimately, I'm admin/develop for many tools we user internally, including all the atlassian suite. I'm most happy when I'm writing groovy scripts for scriptrunner and helping others be more productive.

I used the community so much to learn about groovy scriptunner, that I felt it only natural to give back. I started answering a lot of the scriptrunner/groovy question last year during Summit (got inspired) and haven't stopped since.

The last time there are more and more request from departments other than software development working with Atlassian tools.

Why I am here? Because I was invited by email and I am curious what this will be...

Hi everyone! Proud to be an Answerer. Thanks for the invitation, Bridget.
Come to think of it, I might start wearing a T-shirt that says 'Answerer'!
I'd best start by answering the suggested questions:

  • I'm from Belgium
  • In my free time, I like having fun with my kids and drawing and painting and reading and hiking and rock climbing and being with family and cooking and running and playing music and gardening and learning new things ... or just lie on the couch and do nothing :-)
  • Most of my professional time goes to project management in the IT department of an agricultural company as wel as administration of the Atlassian suite there. Part of my time goes to graphic design and illustration.
  • You can find some of my creations at http://www.skratch.be/en
  • "You don't know what you don't know" (I don't know who to attribute this quote to)
  • I like to answer Community questions because I like to help solve problems, AND I also like it if my own problems are solved by a good answer.

Hi Everyone,

Glad to be in this group and here's a little more info about me!

  • Where you're from
    • Born and raised in Belgium
  • What you do with your free time
    • I sadly spend more time than I should in front of my TV watching movies and tv-shows, next to that I try to raise my 6 month old boy and try and find the courage to go for a run from time to time :) Oh and I also love spending time in the ktichen!
  • What you do with your work time
    • I work as an IT Consultant and my official title is a Product Specialist. I mainly work in the ITSM space and have dabbled in multiple tools of which the Atlassian stack is my latest addition for about 2 years now (main focus on JSD and Confluence). Besides that I do some performance testing and try and learn about Datawarehouses/BI.
  • Your favorite quote
    • Not my favorite but a really good one I found a few days ago which is how every one of us sometimes feels:
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege
  • Why you answer Community questions
    • Besides trying to help others I think of it as paying forward. I know I've had my own fair share of questions in the past and whenever I found that one obscure post that had an answer that I could use I couldn't be happier. (and it also helps me in keeping my own knowledge up to date)
