Verifying Domain using Gsuite and using SAML for SSO

Hi, 

Is it possible to use GSuite for domain verification and SAML for SSO. 

Using GSuite for SSO does not redirect to the google login page by default when we hit <DOMAIN>.atlassian.net url instead it take you to https://id.atlassian.com/login page where the user has to click on Sign In with Google button and then select his account.

As per my understanding, with a correct SAML configuration this redirect happens automatically. Am I missing something?
