How to configure a jira server to raise an event on every transition?

Is there any way to configure JIRA server to raise an appropriate event on workflow transitions?
Post functions in workflow transitions can do that, but when you have many workflows, it becomes unwieldy to manage them.

I would like to configure JIRA server to raise an event, say Issue Resolved event, when any issue is resolved.
Once the event is in place, I can put a listener in to do many things.

Yes, you use the events in the workflows.  There's no other option, as there's no point - the workflows do this for you in a flexible way (you can change the events fired, and you always fire an event)
