How to - scriptrunner that adds a condition on a certain type of link, and a certain resolution

Hello,

We would need to add a validator that does the following: if the resolution is 'duplicate', then it should be mandatory that a linked issue with the 'duplicate' link type exists already or is added during the transition .

I found the example for making it mandatory during the transition (https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/latest/jira/recipes/workflow/validators/validate-attachments-links-in-transition.html#_validating_links_added_this_transition), but how can I make it check for already existing links also?
