Hello Everyone!
I’ve been thinking about applying to become an Atlassian Champion since I really enjoy the community and helping others in the forums. But when reviewing the requirements today I noticed a couple of things that might make me ineligible so I wanted to confirm before applying.
I regularly attend live trainings and I also attended Team ‘26 online (and the years before), but I’m not someone who currently hosts Atlassian events. I saw that hosting an event every quarter is required and I’m not sure that’s something I’d want to commit to.
The other part is content creation. I’m not super into social media, I'll watch YouTube (or LinkedIn) training from like Robert Hean and others, and I’m fairly active on LinkedIn, but I’m curious how much social media involvement is expected as a Champion.
Before looking into the requirements to be eligible I thought the program might be more flexible, like you could focus on one of the areas. For example, helping in the forums and answering questions, which I really enjoy. If all areas are required then it might not be the right fit for me and that’s totally fine. I’ll still stay active and help where I can either way. Just wanted to check before applying.
Thanks for the help in advance!
This is great to hear! Thanks so much for the response.
I'm here on the forum, write articles, I drop a LinkedIn post once in a while. I'm not into organizing events.
Continue doing what you do, learn, help others, share your experience and feel free to apply.
When you're accepted, then you simply need to keep up good work.
Have you looked at the Atlassian Success Champion option. I was in a similar situation and my goal was to try and help my company use Atlassian products better and get support from a great community of Champions.
I went with the Success Champion route because that fit better with what I was trying to accomplish.

I did look into Success Champions and I think Atlassian Champion is more the route I would like to go. I really enjoy troubleshooting and helping others, the forums are great for that.
Also I cannot access that link, I get the below error:
Sorry for the link. I answer questions on the forums and troubleshooting so going with the Track that fits what you are looking for makes sense.
Congrats on applying to be a Community Champion.
Thank you!
Hey @Jason Krewson the advice above is exactly right - you only need to be doing one of those things: events, forums, creating thought leadership or learning on social media. I see you've applied - thanks for that. The team will take a look and we'll get back to you soon!
I went ahead and applied just now, thank you for all the responses, appreciate it!
