Atlassian Isolated Cloud is now generally available

Hi everyone,

Across Atlassian, we've been focused on making teams everywhere more effective, and Atlassian Cloud represents the pinnacle of what we deliver to enable this. Our Enterprise and Information Protection organizations have worked to extend these capabilities to everyone, including customers with complex security and regulatory challenges. That journey has already produced Data Residency, Customer-managed encryption keys, expanded support for regulatory frameworks (IRAP, BSI C5 Type II), and a dedicated cloud offering for US Government customers and their partners. But we're not done — we're pleased to announce that Atlassian Isolated Cloud is now generally available, our next phase of deployment options designed for customers who face regulatory or internal risk-management challenges with multi-tenant cloud.

What is Isolated Cloud?

For teams who handle sensitive data and whose security policies rule out shared cloud infrastructure, Isolated Cloud provides a dedicated, Atlassian-managed cloud environment. That means:

✅ Your data, compute, storage, and networking live in a physically separate cloud environment built for your organization, guaranteeing true isolation

✅ Data egress is blocked by default, so you decide what leaves your environment when

✅ And you dramatically reduce the risk of data leakage or exposure from shared infrastructure

With Isolated Cloud, you get all the benefits of our commercial cloud platform, share management responsibilities with Atlassian, and make your security team happy.

What’s available in it?

We’re launching first with Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management and Guard Standard, plus Platform Apps, including Home, Teams, Goals, Projects, and Assets. Paid security add-ons, including Atlassian Guard Premium and Customer-managed keys, are also supported.

We’ll continue bring more commercial cloud apps and capabilities - including Rovo - to Atlassian Isolated Cloud over time. Check our documentation for the latest information on which apps and capabilities are supported.

Building more ways to get to cloud

A few years ago, our only option was commercial cloud, but we heard from many of you that you needed more control over your data or additional compliance assurances in order to make the move. So we’ve been expanding our cloud security capabilities, with each new investment building on the last. From commercial cloud investments like data residency, to FedRAMP-Moderate-authorized Atlassian Government Cloud, and now Atlassian Isolated Cloud, we’ve been building more secure ways to move from Data Center to cloud.

And we’re not done. We’ve also committed to expanding our dedicated clouds for US Public Sector customers and their partners by investing in FedRAMP High and IL5 environments. And we’re exploring more options to serve customers in regulated industries.

Whether through commercial cloud — with security capabilities like Guard Premium, customer-managed keys, and backup and restore — or through one of our new cloud deployment options, we're building a path to cloud for all customers.

Find the right path for you

Check out our website to learn more about Atlassian Isolated Cloud or get in touch with us to find the right fit for your team.

We also know there is more work to be done — more challenges to address and more options needed to fully unlock everyone. Our team are available to answer your questions, discuss challenges, and brainstorm new deployment options, and we’d love to hear from you in the comments below. We'll leave you with this: what should come next?

@Rob Bissett

Congratulations!

I may have missed it, but is there any info about developing (Forge) apps for Isolated Cloud? If not yet, is there a roadmap?

Also, should we expect something similar to developing apps for Government Cloud?

Thanks for the update @Rob Bissett

I'd also be interested in what to expect as a Marketplace Partner, like @Aron Gombas _Midori_ already requested.

Developer documentation available at https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/marketplace/publish-and-list-ic-apps/.
