A new "feature" has appeared in Trello that deletes time related words ("yesterday", "Tuesday", etc.) from the title of the card and automatically assigns a due date to the card. Is there a way to either:
a) Communicate to Trello which such words are intended to be due dates and which aren't, or
b) Turn off this feature.
Thanks, Dave
Hi @Dave Lewis _personal_ !
Lex here from the Trello Product team! Appreciate the questions and feedback.
At the moment there is no way to turn it off or customize which words it suggests as due dates vs not.
Are there any particular examples of where it has suggested a due date for your based on a particular string where in the future you would like it not to?
Also - in terms of turning it off - for you personally would you expect that to be on a board level or across all your boards?
Hi Lex, I am have a similar issue as Dave was describing.
One example is I have a to-do list for Today, and all cards created or moved to that list automatically have their due dates set to today. Often, I will including in the title of the card an estimated amount of time it will take to complete a task so I can plan my day.
For example, a card title will be "1h - Reformat X Paper". But instead, Trello now deletes the text I put in the title so it shows up as "- Reformat X Paper" unless I manually take my hands off the keyboard and go back to my mouse to delete the automated suggestion for every single new card I create.
I think an option to either disable this feature or select what types of dates it suggest would be helpful (for example, I may use "in 2 days" or "Tuesday," but would never use minutes or hours to automatically set a due date)
Another solution would be adding a toggle which allows Trello to still set an automatic due date, but does not delete the text from the card Title. E.g., "1h - Reformat X Paper" would still set a due date for 1 hour form now but would not delete "1h" from the title.

One other situation: When writing fractions, such as "1/2," Trello assumes it is a date and deletes it from my card title and adds a due date instead.

I've gotten in the habit of creating meeting cards in Trello as a way to give myself an idea of how much capacity I've got in a day.
I write these as say:
"9:00 - 121 with Sandra"
With this feature, it strips out the time element so my card title is now:
" - 121 with Sandra"
And it adds a due date of today.
Like previous poster mentioned, I'm now having to switch to a mouse every time I enter one of these cards to stop this behaviour.
Would like an option to turn this behaviour off.

Hey @Dave Lewis _personal_ ,
Are you by any chance creating cards from email? I'm asking as there's Summarize with AI feature related to this, which can be enabled or disabled 👀 (more details in the linked article)
Another possibility is also to completely remove/disable AI in the whole workspace > see Activate AI for your Trello Workspace or Enterprise
Cheers,
Tobi
