When typing my mail address for login at atlassian.com I am directly forwarded to my account, without any password. Is this the way things should work?

Hi @Lothar ,

Yes, this can be normal depending on how your account is set up. There are a few reasons Atlassian might log you in without asking for a password:

  • Your organization uses SAML SSO: If you're already signed into your company's identity provider (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace), Atlassian authenticates you automatically through SSO.

  • Your account is linked to Google, Microsoft, etc.: If you're already signed into one of those in the same browser, Atlassian uses that session to log you in.

  • You've set up a passkey: Passkeys use biometrics or device unlock instead of a password.

Hope this helps 🙌
Liam
