# in document name erases part of the name.

# in document name erases part of the name.

We use a pdf file and other Microsoft file formats. When a Pdf with # in the name is downloaded the name after the # is erased. EXAMPLE PO#ABC12345.pdf appears in Trello as just 'PO'. files without # show names inact when uploaded to Trello.

The # is a control symbol in urls, so when you use it in a file name, your server and browser are trying to interpret the string following it as a fragment.

Two options - teach your users that # is a silly thing to put in a file name (and it also causes problems) or teach your users to encode it properly.
