how to "Link" a card or board?

Hi, in the manual I read, that you can link cards or boards. also i find on the back side of the cards the field "link" but I cannot copy paste any link....what do I do wrong here?

Crystal from Trello Support here! 

You can add a link to a card using a few methods. You can use the CTRL+V or COMMAND+V shortcut keys. You can also use the "Attachment" button on the back of the card and paste the link in box that appears. 

If you're working on mobile there is a paper clip icon at the bottom of the screen. Once that is selected, please click the "Attach a Link" button to paste the link.
