Why I do keep getting a highlighted box?

Hi can anyone tell me why I keep getting a highlighted box come up around text or sometimes my whole board which stops me from being able to type / add spaces between words etc? I thought it may have been a MAC issue as I have a brand new computer but it only seems to do it in Trello?
