Unathorized Permission Requested Error

I'm attempting to switch my method of authorization with Trello's api from placing the key and token in the request body to placing it in an authorization header. However, although both the token and key are correct, I am now receiving an "unauthorized permission requested" response. Does anyone know why this might be happening?
