Unable to upgrade to a Standard plan, only offering me premium.

Hi Community,

I am trying to upgrade my trello workspace to Standard plan (from the free plan). Currently it only offers me Premium, and the standard plan is greyed out. 

I have just been with the AI chat bot support with Atlantissan for 30 mins, but we keep going around in circles. The AI bot asked me to create a brand new workspace, so that I would automatically be an admin, and therefor should be able to upgrade to standard, but it did not work. 

I’ve created a new Trello Workspace on the Free plan, and I am the only member. However, I am not listed as an admin and don’t have admin controls. According to the documentation, all members of a Free Workspace should be admins by default, but this isn’t the case for me.

I’ve tried logging out and back in, refreshing my browser, and even creating a new Workspace again, but I still don’t have admin rights. I also can’t access billing or admin settings.

Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've bever had to try so hard to upgrade my account and pa someone before!

Hi @Lucy Ridges ,

Welcome to the community!

To upgrade to the Standard plan, you should be able to click on Workspace settings >> Upgrade Workspace and then select the "Upgrade Now" button under the Standard plan section. If this option isn't working for you, please try accessing Trello in an incognito browser window and let us know if any issue persists.

Thanks for getting back to me!

Unfortunately those options are not working. Still the only option it lets me click on is Premium. I tried it in Incognito mode. Please see screenshot to see what I mean. Screenshot 2025-09-11 at 15.01.54.png

Hi @Lucy Ridges ,

Thanks for the screenshot, It seems like you are clicking on Setting and "Upgrade for premium" 

Can you please click on the Upgrade workspace option on the left side (last option) and then select Standard plan. Sharing a sample snapshot for your reference,
