Hi,
I am currently unable to add or edit any Trello Automation, including Rules, Scheduled automations, Due Date automations, and Buttons.
When I try to create or edit an automation, the Automation editor does not work correctly.
The issue is reproducible across:
Therefore, this does not appear to be specific to one browser, device, network, Trello account, board, or Workspace.
The browser console shows the following error immediately when attempting to add/edit an automation:
Error: No popover in context. Are you using the correct t?
The Automation UI is loaded from a URL similar to:
The context indicates:
version: build-237610
I also checked the Network tab. I could not find any failed requests; the requests I observed returned HTTP 200.
I found a similar Community report:
“Adding or editing automations does not work”
However, that case showed an iframe initialization timeout and was eventually traced to an ISP blocking `butlerfortrello.com`.
My case appears to be different:
`app.butlerfortrello.com` loads.No popover in context.Could this be a bug in the current Automation/Butler modernized UI (`powerup-dashboard-modernization` / build-237610)?
Is anyone else currently experiencing this issue?
Any help from the Trello/Atlassian team would be appreciated.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for flagging this and for your patience over the weekend!
We can confirm this was a known incident affecting Trello Automation - users were experiencing an infinite loading wheel when trying to open, create, or edit automations. Our engineering team identified the cause and rolled back the change responsible for the regression.
The issue has now been resolved. If you're still seeing the loading wheel, try a hard refresh:
Windows: Ctrl + F5
Mac: Cmd + Shift + R
That should clear things up. If you're still running into issues after that, let us know in the comments and we'll look into it further.
Sorry again for the disruption, and thanks for bearing with us!
It's not resolved yet. I just gave it a try, did the refresh too. Still not working.

I have tried to create an automation with two different accounts, and the trello app as well. I have even switched browser to make it work. But it's still not working.

Same issue here. I reproduced it with two Trello accounts, multiple boards—including a newly created blank board—and a clean Chrome Guest profile. The Butler/Automation network requests return HTTP 200, but the Automation page remains on an infinite loading spinner. This appears to be the same global outage.

Hi @김관호 ,
Yeah... there seems to be global outage in buttler/automation area.
I'd suggest monitoring Trello Statuspage, although they haven't published incident report yet.
Note that I have an open ticket with Trello Support and I'm waiting for them to get back to me with some additional insights. So far, I don't think there's any workaround you can use. 🫤
Cheers,
Tobi
