I am having a serious syncing problem with the Trello iOS app and need help recovering unsynced changes.

My iPhone currently has a Sync Queue containing approximately 1,956 lines of pending operations. Every operation shows:

“not synced (0 attempts)”

I have confirmed that these changes have NOT reached the Trello server. I opened the same board through Trello in Safari and verified that several of the affected cards are missing their recent updates.

The queue contains important current changes, including card descriptions, names, Custom Fields, labels, card positions, covers, and attachments.

There is also a very large number of entries showing:

“Update cover of a missing card”
“Remove cover from card [missing card]”
“not synced (0 attempts)”

I have already:

  • Confirmed I am logged into the correct account.
  • Confirmed the changes are missing from the web version.
  • Used a reliable internet connection.
  • Completely closed and reopened the iOS app.
  • Left the app open for several minutes without making changes.
  • Confirmed that the Sync Queue does not decrease.

I have NOT cleared the Sync Queue, cleared the app cache, logged out, or deleted/reinstalled the app because I do not want to lose the unsynced changes.

I have also exported the entire Sync Queue and can provide the file if needed.

This is an active operational board, and the unsynced information is important. Is there a way to recover or force synchronization of the pending queue without deleting the local unsynced changes?

I would especially appreciate guidance from someone familiar with the Trello iOS sync system.

Thank you!

Vicki

Hello and welcome to Atlassian Community @VIcki L_

I flagged this post to the attention of Atlassian support.

At this scale, this is beyond us as community members.

Somebody must take look on that very carefully.

Best,

Arek 🤠

@VIcki L_

Also there's one older similar bug, but now are most important damage control, and not make anything more broken than it is https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-1056

I also retracted the accepted answer Mark because your problem is not resolved.

I would rather help you than increase my accepted answer count.

Additional diagnostic information — please see below

I was able to locate the Developer → Reports section in the Trello iOS app and found two relevant reports.

1. Networking Error

The Trello iOS app attempted a POST request to:

https://trello.com/1/batch

The request timed out after 60 seconds with:

NSURLErrorDomain -1001 — The request timed out

Atlassian Request ID:
20fc78fc-0dc1-4ddf-825d-2c7cd3e63bff

2. Network Cache HTTP Error

The app also received a 403 AccessDenied when attempting to retrieve a Trello S3 image.

S3 Request ID:
8Q8TZVSBK76RACVW

The Sync Queue is still stuck at “not synced (0 attempts)” and the number of pending operations is not decreasing.

I have also confirmed that the affected changes are not present on the web version of the board.

I have not cleared the Sync Queue, logged out, cleared the cache, or reinstalled the app, because I don’t want to lose the unsynchronized changes.

I have the full exported Sync Queue and the diagnostic JSON reports available if they are needed.

Could you please investigate the /1/batch request using the Atlassian Request ID above and advise on the safest way to recover/synchronize the pending changes?

The diagnostic report confirms the /1/batch timeout and the request ID.  The separate 403 report confirms the S3 AccessDenied error and its request ID.

I am still desperate to resolve this!  I have not heard from Atlassian.
