Trello notifications for direct messages only

Hi! We are a small agency that currently uses Trello as a project management tool for all our jobs. Half of my creative team feels that they get TOO many notifications from Trello, therefore, they just ignore everthing. My question:

If you turn off your Trello notifications, will you still recieve a notification if someone direct messages on the card?

Is there a way to select the type of notifications you get? That way, only the relevant notifications are being seen?

Hello Stefani

If you unsubscribe from a board, list or card, you'll only receive certain notifications

• You are mentioned in a comment.
• You are added to a card, board, or team.
• You are mentioned in a checklist item.
• One of your boards is closed.
• When someone makes you an admin of a board or team
