Trello can't handle the string 'java.lang.Runtime'?

Fran Fabrizio
October 4, 2023

We just uncovered an odd bug. Apparently, Trello can't handle the string java.lang.Runtime in a card title, description, or comment. The error manifests in various ways:

In the title when trying to make a new card -> Could not connect to Trello error.

In the description: "Change not saved; failed to sync to the Trello server" pop-up and this in the card: "Unrecognized HTML error page: ERROR: The request could not be satisfied 403 ERROR The request could not be satisfied. Request blocked. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or cont"

In a comment: Just spins on "Saving..." forever

Is it just us, or are others seeing this?

I can repeat the bug you have on my end...

The response is bizarre.  I think this is a bug that Trello should take a look at.
