Team member cannot see the team boards I established

I couldn't find my original post or the answer received, so this is a followup. Thanks for your response. I now have access to wife’s phone, so may be able to troubleshoot further. When I start the Trello app on her phone, the first screen displayed is Account.  The top section shown contains a circle with her initials in it, @lulueager and her Gmail address. The Workspaces section lists Eager’s Trello Team, which I set up and in which I’m the only other member. In the General section it lists: Offline boards (which containing nothing), Browse templates, Settings and Help. At the bottom of the Account screen are links to Boards (nothing there), Inbox, Activity and Account (which returns to the initially-displayed Account screen.

 

When I start the app on my phone, the fist screen displayed is Boards, which lists all the boards I’ve set up. Clicking the Account button at screen bottom Shows Workspaces containing Donald Eager’s workspace and Eager’s Trello Team, which contains Collaborators LE (wife) and DE (me). It also shows Your Workspace boards (all the boards I’ve set up and are trying to share).

 

Does any of this information help to determine the issue causing the boards I set up not showing on her phone? Look forward to hearing more from you. Thanks is advance.

Hi @Donald Eager  ,Welcome to community !

I understand that the board you set up under Workspace is not visible on your wife's account when she tries to log in from her phone.

Can you give me the name of one example board and which workspace it belongs to? I will try to check from our end to see if something is missing.

Lulu's Meds is one board. It's listed under Eager's Trello Team, but I don't know if that's a workspace or not.

Hi @Donald Eager,I see the user is a member of the board "Lulu's Meds," and it should be visible on the mobile app.

Can you ask user @lulueager to search for the board on the phone using the board name and let me know if the board shows up?

Also, make sure the user has the latest version of the app.Once, try to reinstall it from the App Store or Play Store and see if the issue persists.

Neither user @lulueager, nor I, know how to search for the board. Maybe this will help. On her account page, below the box with her name and email address, there is a section titled Workspaces. Under that is shown Eager's Trello Team - Free. Tapping on Boards button at bottom of screen produces another screen titled Boards. At the top of that is a box labelled Inbox - Add card. Below that is a large box "Get started with Trello" and a button "+ Create board."

No worries, I will try my best to help you.

As soon as you open the Trello app, click on Boards at the bottom, and at the top you will see the search bar. Try to search with the board name there, and let me know if something comes up. (See the screenshot.)

Hi @Donald Eager ,

I see @lulueager1 is part of the "Lulu's Meds" board and not @lulueager. Both are different accounts associated with different email IDS. @lulueager1 is associated with email: l****er@v*****n.**t (the email ID is obfuscated due to security reasons). Only if logged in with this email ID will the boards be visible.

I don't know what @lulueager1 is or where it's found in Trello. The app on her phone shows @lulueager with email of lulueager1947@gmail.com. My account shows @donaldeager with an email of doneager@verizon.net. Will changing her email on the Trello account to lueager@verizon.net (the email address she routinely uses) fix this problem? If so, how do I change it?

Hi @Donald Eager ,

It appears you've shared your board access with @lulueager1, which is associated with the email l****er@v*****n.**t. If she logs into the Trello app using this email, the boards should be visible to her. Alternatively, you can invite @lulueager, who is associated with a Gmail address, to all the boards. Please also refer :   https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/adding-people-to-a-board/

 

Additionally, when you click on the "Share" button on a board, you can view all the members who have access.

I'm very sorry, but I'm still not understanding any of this.

In your last post, you talked about my wife logging into the Trello app using @lulueager1 which is associated with her Verizon email address. I gather this is the email she should be using, since my Trello account is linked to MY Verizon address. I don't know what you mean by this. When she starts the Android app on her phone, she isn't required to provide her email or anything else. When the app starts, it first shows the Account page.  On there, in the top box, is displayed Lulu Eager, @lulueager and her Gmail address. I can find no reference to @lulueager1 anywhere. I don't know how to have her sign into that in order to reference her Verizon email account or to change the email there from Gmail to Verizon.

Regarding the link you provided about adding people to a board, step 1 says to open a board and select Share. When I open any of my boards on my phone, there is no "Share" entry I can find. 

This process is WAY TOO complicated and my patience is running out, I'm afraid.

I'm so sorry for any confusion. If you would like, I can quickly connect with you to go over exactly what needs to be done.

I am adding some more instructions below:

On the board "Lulu's Meds," there are two people—one is you and the other is your wife. You both are added to the board with Verizon email addresses.

Your wife has access to the "Lulu's Meds" board with her Verizon account, not with her Gmail account. So, you need to invite her to the board with her Gmail account, or alternatively, ask her to log out of Trello on her mobile app and then try logging in with her Verizon email address instead of the Gmail one.

Your wife has two accounts: the Gmail one (lulueager) and the Verizon one (lulueager1).

How to resolve this issue:

  1. Go to the "Lulu's Meds" board on your phone.

  2. Click on the three dots and select "Invite."

  3. Now, enter your wife's Gmail email address and invite her.

I hope this provides some clarity on what was causing the issue.
