I am looking for a way to automate dates based on an entered start date. I though I had figured it out by using the update due/start date by so many working days but it seems to be functioning off of the current date not the date on the card.
Any suggestions on how I can get this done?

One possible solution to automate dates based on an entered start date in Jira is to use a third-party app such as Automation for Jira or ScriptRunner. With Automation for Jira, you can create a rule to set the due date based on the start date, and specify the number of working days to complete the task. ScriptRunner also provides a similar feature called "Script Fragments", which allows you to write a script to automate the process. Alternatively, you could use the Advanced Roadmaps tool in Jira Software Cloud Premium and Enterprise to configure custom dates and use them for scheduling. To use custom dates in Advanced Roadmaps, you first need to add the custom date field to the schemes of the projects associated with your issue sources. Once that’s been configured, you can then select your custom date in Advanced Roadmaps.
