Severe bug with Smart Links: All different URLs from the same domain are showing the exact same card

Hi everyone,
Around 10 days ago, Trello started forcing the exact same title/display text for all links belonging to a specific domain pasted into card descriptions.
Previously, each link showed its own individualized name or layout correctly. Now, even though the URLs are completely different and still redirect users to the correct, unique web pages when clicked, Trello forces the text/title of a completely unrelated past link onto all new ones.
I have already tried changing my Atlassian account settings under "Link Preferences" to "Display URL", but the system completely ignores this preference when saving the card description and still forces the incorrect title.
Manually clicking on every single link to change its display to "URL" is completely unfeasible for me, as we have hundreds of cards and thousands of affected links.
Is this a known issue with the recent Atlassian Smart Links global cache update? How can I completely disable this automated link fetching behavior across my boards to keep only the raw URL?
Thank you.

Hi @Paulo Eduardo Panazzo Azevedo , welcome to the Atlassian Community!

This is not expected. Trello documents that selecting URL should preserve the raw address for newly created links. Add the affected domain under Link preferences → Exceptions for specific domains, select URL, then reload Trello completely before pasting a new test link. This preference will not convert links that were already saved.

If a newly pasted link still changes back to the unrelated title after saving and reopening the card, Trello is not honoring the documented preference. I could not find a documented board-level switch or bulk action for disabling or converting Smart Links across existing descriptions.

The repeated title may come from incorrect public metadata returned for that domain or from stale metadata used by the Smart Link service, but the domain and two example URLs are needed to distinguish that from a Trello regression. Test two public URLs from the affected domain and one from another domain in a clean card, then include the results and a short recording in a Trello bug report. The expected display behavior is documented under Trello link display options.

Hello, German Morales!

Thank you for your attention and for the detailed response.Regarding the settings you mentioned, it already works as expected for new links, and I have no trouble keeping the correct URL for them. The real issue, however, is with the more than 1500 old links that have already been saved and remain named the exact same way.

Based on your explanation, it unfortunately seems like there is nothing that can be done to fix those past records automatically. Either way, I would like to leave this as a tip and feedback for future Trello updates, so that a bulk conversion or retroactive adjustment option can be implemented.

Thanks again for your support!
