Referring to checklist while writing new card

I'm a newbie so be gentle. I have a master checklist that I use to do event planning. That is the first list on my board. Then I have events on my board. Each event is in it's own list so we can track things we need for each. When I open my list for new event, I can no longer refer to my master check list on the board. Only one thing can be open at a time. Is there anyway to view both so I can check items against what we already have for that event? The way I can open two web browing windows or open two emails side-by-side?

I would suggest opening your Trello board in two separate browsers, one to work on and one to view on. For insurance, use Chrome and Internet Explorer. 

You might try using two separate instances of chrome, instead, but I'm not sure that'll work.
