When creating a quick card Trello used to save the cards up until a few weeks ago. I am losing cards now unless I hit enter after adding the card, which opens an additional new blank card that I don't need.
The best process was before - i.e. when you fill out a quick card and click away the card gets saved. Why did it change? Can I change it back?
Hi @Tim Newlin 👋🏻
First of all, welcome to community! ✨
This is a deliberate change in Trello's card creation flow, which unfortunately disabled the "click-away to save" behavior and introduced the automatic creation of a new blank card.
As @Jason Krewson mentioned, the current behavior — requiring you to press Enter to save a card — is now the intended design. According to Trello's documentation, the process is: type a card name → press Enter to create it. Add a card | Trello | Atlassian Support
Unfortunately, there's no setting to revert to the old "click away to auto-save" behavior.
You can bypass this by holding Ctrl + Enter (or Cmd + Enter on Mac) when finishing your title. This saves your current card without opening a new blank one or prompting an extra window.
I hope this helps & resolves your issue. 🙂
Thanks,

Hey Tim, I just tested this also and I am seeing the same thing.
So before if I'm not mistaken we used to just type in a title and click off and it would create that Trello card, now you have to click enter after or click add card and then it starts to create another card. I found that clicking out of that text box after hitting enter or clicking add card doesn't create another though.
I searched and was unable to find any Atlassian reference to this change and it's making me wonder if I am even remembering this correctly now lol.
I did find Add a card and it clearly states what we are seeing, steps below from the page.

I would recommend using the share your thoughts on Trello button, top right of the screen in Trello to provide feedback about this.
