The wysiwyg editor is pretty nice, but there are still times when it's frustrating -- part of the whole idea of markdown was that it's easy to type, in a normal plaintext editor.
What is the point of showing the markdown in a readonly view, without letting us modify it?
There are still situations where I have to hit 'Copy' and paste into my favorite text editor, make the one- or two-character formatting change I need, than select-all and copy/paste it back into Trello.
That works -- so obviously trello has code to parse markdown from the clipboard -- why not allow us to modify the markdown, without leaving Trello?
A text-entry experience similar to reddit.com, allowing to seamlessly flip from wysiwyg to markdown, would be helpful.
Hi Shawn 😊,
I hope you're doing well, and welcome to the community!
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us!😊
I understand you're interested in editing markdown directly within Trello descriptions, without needing to leave Trello. That's a great suggestion.
In the past, we created a feature request for this functionality. However, our development team has since closed the request and provided an explanation for their decision.
For more details, please take a look at the suggestion ticket here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-601
Best regards,
Rishabh
