Option to switch between boards in column on left hand side

Hi there,

I have lost the ability to quickly switch between all my boards from a column on the left side of my screen. How do I get this back please?

It looks like you are on the new Beta experience. If you press 'b' on your keyboard, you will see the board switcher, or you can also access it by clicking the rightmost button on the bottom island

Is it not possible to revert to having all my boards in a column on the left (at the same time as having one of the boards open and working on it)?? If not (annoying!), is it possible for the board switcher to display all my boards in horizontal descriptions the way it used to in the column on the left (rather than square icons without all the details visible)?
