I am needing admin access to our Team Trello workspace as the previous admin resigned. I do have admin access to one of the workspaces but still not sure why I am not able to add another member. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi @Charles Nnabugwu ,
On a Free Workspace, every Workspace member is already a Workspace admin. If you cannot open the affected Workspace’s Members page, your account is probably a guest or only a board member. A current Workspace member can add you to the Workspace.
First check the collaborator total under Workspace → Members. The Free plan allows up to 10 collaborators across the entire Workspace, including members, guests on any board, and pending invitations. When the total reaches 10, Trello prevents new people from being added.
If the former admin is still listed, remove that account and any invitation or guest that is no longer needed. When the removed person is the only admin of a board, Trello can automatically promote a remaining Workspace member on that board. This may both release a collaborator slot and restore board administration.
Keep in mind that Workspace admin and board admin are separate on Free. Being a Workspace admin does not automatically give you control of every board. If the previous admin cannot be contacted and no remaining member can gain board administration through the removal process, Atlassian Support cannot manually transfer ownership; the documented fallback is to create a new Workspace and move or copy the boards you can access.
See the Free Workspace collaborator limit, remove a collaborator from a Free Workspace, and recover a Workspace or board when the admin is gone.
Thank you @Germán Morales Our account is premium. I will be in touch with our IT department. I appreciate your feedback!
