Need Archived Cards to be in a List that matches the original card

When I archive a card it just goes to Archive.  It is not archiving by list name, which I desperately need in order to keep my PM team on track.  It takes too much time to restore cards at random for an entire month in order to print, then extract out the month I need and resave.

Is there not a powerup that does no require programming?  Help?

Hi Belinda,

Trello’s native Archive is board-level, so archived cards are found from the board menu under More - Archived items, and you can search or restore them there. It does not create separate archive sections by original list name. Official doc: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/archiving-and-deleting-cards/

For a no-code option, try Board Assistant: https://trello.com/power-ups/685016dd47b5654ae385bba6

It has an Extended Activity Log with filter presets. You can filter by archive/deletion actions, date range, board, member, and then open the needed card directly in Trello. That should make it much easier to find the archived cards from a specific period without restoring cards at random.

Since you also need reporting, you can also try Cross-Board Reporting & Dashboards: https://trello.com/power-ups/66291013ec3abfbf13b255c6

It can include archived cards in reports and show fields like card name, list, and archive status, so you can build a table/report for the specific list or month instead of restoring cards manually.

Hi @Belinda Bentley_ PhD ,

Would using operators such as list:"name" work here? For example, when looking at archived items, you can use this operator and parameter to show archived cards from that list specifically 👀

Apart from that, you could maybe create a dedicated "Archive" board, or a specific "Monthly Archive" list, before actually archiving the items. Then, create some kind of monthly report rule that would move the card to the top of the list "Archived - <monthname>" and archive the card 🤔

Just thinking out loud here. I'm not a heavy Trello user, but I've built something like this a while back.

Cheers,
Tobi
