RE: Account verification issues with company accounts
Good Morning all at Trello, first of all I love your product. It is amazing, but before I put my life into this product, I need to make sure that I am setup as a company account.
Here is why
Rationale: Every system seems to be using something called id.me, persona, and the like to verify accounts. But, none of these systems were smart enough to put in metrics for company/organizational accounts. Small non-profits like mine typically have one login for several volunteers. And it was going well until this awful bug called id.me and persona.
Oh my I cannot believe that I am the only company that has run into this issue. Typically companies are able to setup more than one account id under the same company. I want to make sure that your company is equipped to do that.
For I do not want to have one of my authorized volunteers login to your systems and then be prompted to identify herself. For it is a company account. Sorry to have to bring this difficult question, but I just happen to be highly intelligent and my question has not been answered by anyone yet.
Please, advise when you are able

Hello @Lt_ Helen
What you are doing EXPLICITLY violates Atlassian Customer Agreement clause 3 (sharing accounts between multiple people), why are you surprised that nobody there is willing to help you?
If you are a volunteer organisation — this won't help you with Trello, but given that a lot of Trello functionality can be done with Jira, maybe you should look at this: https://www.atlassian.com/teams/nonprofits/discount-pricing
Lt. Helen,
Trello can support an organization setup, but not by having several volunteers share one Trello/Atlassian login.
The usual setup is:
Official docs:
https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/inviting-people-to-a-workspace/
https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/how-to-manage-trello-in-your-organization/
https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/verify-a-domain-to-manage-accounts/
https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/managed-atlassian-accounts-for-trello/
So the answer is: yes, Trello can be used as an organizational account structure, but the safer and supported model is one organization Workspace with separate user accounts, not one shared login. On Standard/Premium, adding Workspace members can affect billing, so check the member count and plan details before inviting everyone.
From the thread, it looks like the main concern is avoiding identity-verification problems when different volunteers use the same login. Separate user accounts should avoid most of that issue because each person signs in as themselves.

Hello @Lt_ Helen ,
I just wanted to let you know that this is the Atlassian Community Forums, we (well most of us) do not actually work for Atlassian.
I would recommend reaching out to Atlassian Support if you have a Trello subscription at Trello support by clicking on "Contact Support".
If you do not have a subscription you can go to Have a general question for us?
Hope this helps!

Thank you Mr. Jason, I did ask Atlassian, support directed me here. Told you no one has been able to answer the question.
Oh my!

Interesting, I would think they could help in this situation.
Do you have a subscription with Trello or are you a free user? If free that's probably why they are unable to assist.
So it sounds like you have one Trello account that multiple users share is that correct?
If so when they log in with this account, what error are they seeing?
Personally I would recommend having multiple accounts, you can have up to 10 on a free account.
Atlassian also gives discounts for nonprofits:

Sir, I have a brand new paid subscription, that I am testing. (I always pay I want nothing for free!) So, I have other companies that I have moved/moving from because they have not been able to answer the question. I have run into problems at the other companies that have not been able to resolve the issue. I do not want to run into the problem again, so here at Trello, I am being proactive. I want to know ahead of time if they can handle a true organizational account.
My father told me I was smart, but my goodness. So, I tested a lot of companies, linkedin.com, persona, id.me and the like none of them have no idea what I am talking about. Oh my.
I could write the algorithm in my sleep. All you need is company portal for the companies, AKA screen door, than create allow user logins to open the main door. I mean really!!! They want individual accounts for 36 billion people, just because we have the technology that can sustain it. What if they work for more than one company, have multiple email address, work cell phone, multiple work locations and the like. They never ever considered it!
This is outrageous, and we are suppose to trust this incompetence with our personal data. And let wreckless AI run the planet. lol.. oh my.
I will keep looking until I find a solution. If I do find intelligent life somewhere I will post here.
