Multiple lines in checklist items

I am not able to add multiple items in checklist items. 

What's the issue I am having with it?

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

I think it can be done as suggested in this trello guide - https://help.trello.com/article/737-adding-checklists-to-cards i.e. importing checklist items   - 'You can easily import items from a list (or a spreadsheet) to a checklist as long as each item is on a separate line. Copy the list items and paste them in to the "Add item" field in your checklist and press 'enter.' A separate checklist item will be created for each listed item.'. 

I have just tried in one of my dummy projects and it worked as expected. Please see the screen shot below for reference.
