Moving from Premium to free version (single user)

I seem to have been put onto the Premier version and have a limited number of days of use.

I am a single user and only wish to use the Free to use version and am concerned that any data I put onto the current version will become unavailable at the end of the "trial". How can I convert my current account set up from Premier to Free? Thanks

If you’re on a Trello Premium trial but wish to use the Free version and retain access to your data, follow these steps:


1. Let the Trial Expire

  • If you're currently on a free trial of Trello Premium, you don't need to take any action to downgrade.
  • At the end of the trial period, your account will automatically revert to the Free plan, and you’ll retain access to your boards and data.

2. Verify Workspace Settings

  • Go to Workspace Settings by clicking on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
  • Check the Billing section to ensure no payment method has been added.
  • If a payment method is associated, remove it to avoid being charged once the trial ends.

3. Data Availability on Free Plan

  • On the Free plan:
    • You can have up to 10 boards per workspace.
    • Premium features (e.g., advanced checklists, unlimited automation) will no longer be available, but your data will remain intact.
    • Any features you used during the trial (like custom fields) will become read-only unless upgraded again.

4. Back Up Important Data

  • If you’re concerned about losing access to certain features, consider exporting key board data:
    • Use the Print and Export option under board settings to save information as a backup.
    • Alternatively, copy boards or lists manually to ensure critical data is preserved.

5. Confirm Downgrade

  • Once the trial expires, confirm you’re on the Free plan by checking your Workspace Settings > Billing. It should state “Free.”

Hi, So no way of accessing your free boards whilst on a premium trial? Is it possible to cancel the free trial instead or is there nothing that can be done until the trial expires? Thanks
