Markdowns / Inserts not appearing on cursor when editing

When I'm editing text on a card I've already made, like editing from the top, if I insert or try to use a markdown it just appears at the bottom of the text and ONLY the bottom. How can I make it so it always appears wherever I'm writing / my cursor ?
